Hello World of Bloggers,
Yes, its me—not a devil but a little devilish at times. And yes, you guessed it: this is yet another fashion blog. Hopefully, my site will not only tell you what’s hot and what’s not, what to wear and what not to wear, but also will inspire you. From excerpts about the fashion industry to quotes from designers and pictures, I hope this blog will inspire you in the sense of broadening your fashion horizons.
It’s important to remember that fashion is not only about couture and fashion week in Milan. Fashion can be found on the street corners and in your own back yard. Fashion trends are often carbon copies of trends discovered on the runway but are also trends because of subcultures that dress and act a certain way. FYI that’s how the whole gothic phase become trendy.
Designers, like Oscar, and fashion gurus, like Ana Wintour, really are trend setters and create visions that last forever but it’s the people and consumer market that are their muses for these visions and are their greatest influencers.
To me, the word fashion can be used in creative ways. I used the word as a noun, adjective, verb, and even adverb. Even though typically fashion is associated with style of garment on a man or woman, I believe that this idea has morphed dramatically in the past decade. The fashion of a building, architecture, and foods are now relevant. It is not only about clothes anymo. Not only is the word fashion diverse in its meaning and usage but also in fashion’s representation. Ya know what I am sayin?
Fashion should not only be recognized on the runway and at red carpet events but also by what is worn when no one is paying attention and the cameras are not flashing flashing (can you see the lights?). Notorious designer Alexander Wang said the following quote:
"Anyone can get all dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress in their off days, that are the most intriguing."
It just beautiful, dontcha think? This quote gives you somethin to think about. Alexander Wang is not only a designer but an innovator. He pushes the boundaries of the norm in fashion and his designs and clothing are meant for the ‘off days.’ I think the off days really show one who they really are. Personally, I am a sweat pants gal while my bestie would never be caught dead in sweatpants. Well, since you don’t know Brittany Thompson, let’s take a look at people you do know or at least people you act like you are best friends with. Don’t act like you don’t know what I am talking about.
The following pictures are of Kate Moss on the runway.

In this scenario, Kate proves Alexander Wang wrong. The pictures don’t look too different besides the dramatic makeup and runway. In one she has a runway and in the other the streets is her runway. She proves to still be glamorous and dressed up on her off days. This shows that Kate’s runway identity may in fact be equivalent to her real identity. However this scenario is not usually the norm. We all know who I am going to bring up now. Britney Spears. Yuh huh I am bringing her into this.—No fashion blog can be complete without her. So here we go. We all know that girl is tragic off the runway and that she is fact just a plain old Louisiana girl who doesn’t want to wear shoes. I will spare you pictures of her oooops doing it over and over again moments.
I can’t help but wonder (think Carrie Bradshaw here!) how long will the fashion industry even hold our interest and continue to be relevant?
That’s all.
